Women Over 70: Aging Reimagined C.2023

Welcome to Women Over 70–Aging Reimagined

The decades that begin in our 70s require resilience to deal with new challenges, gratitude for living longer, and inspiration to enrich our own and others’ lives.

Women Over 70:Women Over 70: Reimagining Aging, Place, and Possibilities

September 3, 2026 – AARP IL – Workshop & Book Signing

Arlington Heights, The Bakester – 3pm-5pm 13 ½ W. Davis St, Arlington Heights IL 60005

The New Story of Aging: Joy, Purpose, and Possibility

The years ahead can be among the most meaningful of our lives-especially when we challenge the outdated stories our culture speaks about aging. We are not here to tell you how to age well. We’re here to share what hundreds of women have taught us about living vibrant, purposeful lives after 50 and well beyond.

Drawing on the stories and wisdom of more than 370 women featured on our Women Over 70-Aging Reimagined® podcast, along with insights from leading researchers on aging, we’ll begin by examining common assumptions –- myths –- that can slyly shape our expectations and limit what’s possible as we grow older. Together, we’ll discover six qualities that help women flourish across the years. Throughout the workshop you’ll hear the voices of women from our podcast as they share how these qualities have enriched their own lives.

Our New Book Has Arrived!

Women Over 70: Reimagining Aging, Place, and Possibilities

We’re thrilled to announce the publication of our new book! This book grows out of years of conversations, stories, interviews, and relationships with women who continue to challenge assumptions about what it means to grow older.

If you’ve listened to the Women Over 70: Aging Reimagined podcast, participated in the Aging Reimagined Circle, attended one of our programs, shared our work, or simply cheered us on, you are part of this journey.

Our community has shown us again and again that aging can be a time of curiosity, creativity, connection, contribution, and possibility. Women Over 70: Reimagining Aging, Place, and Possibilities carries that conversation forward, inviting us to question the limitations too often placed on later life and imagine what might be possible instead.

A Celebration of Our Community

This book represents an exciting new chapter for Women Over 70: Aging Reimagined, but it is also a reflection of the community that has grown around this work.

We are deeply grateful to the many women who have shared their stories and wisdom, and to everyone who has listened, participated, encouraged us, and helped spread the word.

Thank you for being part of the Women Over 70 community. In many ways, this book is your story, too.
