At age 91, Dr. Marie Kisiel continues to pursue her passions as a mentor to people of all ages and as a writer about seasons in human life, centering on food, learning and work. The daughter of immigrant parents who had little formal education, Marie ignored convention by going straight through from high school to a Ph.D. in English with a minor in Guidance and Counseling. She then married, lived abroad with her husband, settled in the western suburbs of Illinois, had two “marvelous” daughters, and mentored-taught adults in college for nearly 30 years. Creativity is the theme that Marie integrates into her mentoring, teaching and writing. She now lives apart from her husband of 57 years and is grateful for the excellent care he receives in an assisted living facility. Marie strives to “enjoy every single day” and advises all of us to “not take life and people for granted.”

” My passion is to bring out every person’s potential and creativity.” – Dr. Marie Kisiel
